Last month was the 75th anniversary of Hammer Films. Over at Cinebeats, Kimberly Lindbergs just completed a series of great posts about the history of the studio, focusing on the particular actresses that made it iconic.

Here’s a version of Rex Holdem, a private detective I created for a rather unusual version of a PI story, Thrilling Hard-Boiled Detective Comics, which appeared a few years back on the online version of the Mississippi Review. I’ve always wanted to incorporate him into other stories, comics, etc. Well, maybe in the near future…

Nearing Halloween…

I had bushels of fun participating in the Countdown To Halloween gathering of blogs this year. It gave me a great excuse to create a bunch of Halloween-related illustrations and posts. There’s a wealth of great material on all these blogs so go and check them out to get in the Halloween spirit!

Thanks to Frankenstenia for giving the Catalogue of Curiosities a plug with their round up of the blogs participating in Countdown to Halloween with a sort of “best of” post. My illustration of Boris Karloff was highlighted along with other really cool posts. It’s a great blog with so much great material on anything and everything related to Frankenstein.
